Thankyou so much! Right, the tongue is a bit of a tricky one…I got mine done about 4 years ago now. At first it is horrendous - they put a bar in like twice the size of a normal one because of the swelling. But stick with it! After about a week the swelling does down, you get your bar changed and its happy days. You are meant to leave it a couple of days before you smoke and drink as far as i remember, but i did both the day after and mines been fine. No trouble since I got it done whatsoever!
